Q: Can I burn trash, leaves or wood in the borough?
A: All burning for the destruction, by burning of non–recyclable household waste, twigs and leaves shall take place between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at which time ALL fires must be extinguished. NO burning Saturdays, Sundays or recognized Federal or State holidays. [READ MORE]
Q: What forms of payment are excepted for my Borough, School and County taxes?
A: Credit Card, Money Order, Cashier or Certified Check are proper payment forms. [READ MORE]
Q: Does Weatherly have a recyclable program?
A: Weatherly Borough does not have a recycling program for plastics, newspapers, tin cans, glass bottles, etc. These items must be placed in the trash. Electronic recycling events take place twice per year, in the spring and fall. [READ MORE]
Q: What if wild animals rip open my trash bag or dump my trash can? Is it my responsibility to clean it up?
A: The original owner is responsible for clean-up. If materials belonging to one owner are found on another property, the owner of those materials will be asked to remove them. [READ MORE]
Q: I own a cat or have multiple cats, Do I have to get a license for them?
A: All cats must be licensed in the borough, this includes indoor cats as well. Proof of current feline distemper and rabies inoculation must be presented in order to obtain a license, as well as proof of spaying or neutering your pet. Cat licenses must be renewed annually within 30 days after the first day of January each year. Licenses may be obtained Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm at the borough office.
Q: How can I get notified of Snow Bans placed in the borough?
A: Snow Ban announcements will be made by the use of the Swiftreach telephone notification system, normal TV Channel announcements, Borough website as well as on our Facebook page. If you have not registered a phone number with the Borough Office to receive notification by phone or need to change your number, please do so as soon as possible by calling the office.

Q: May I own chickens if I live in the Borough?
A: Yes. Per Animal Ordinance (1991), Article VII Number of Animals on Premises; registration required if more than four (4) animals, six (6) months of age or over are kept on any premises, regardless of the number of owners, the owner of the premises must notify and register with the Weatherly Borough Health Department. Failure to notify and register constitutes a violation of the ordinance. Additionally, roosters are not allowed.
A zoning permit is required to install a chicken coop. Complaints of noise or smell received at the Borough Office may result in the removal of the chickens.
