Renewal Application
All Weatherly residents with a current Handicap Parking Permit are hereby notified that the permit must be renewed annually. The renewal applications will be mailed out in January.
Completed renewal applications should be mailed attention Karen at the Borough Office at 61 West Main St. and accompanied by the renewal fee of $5.00 payable to Weatherly Borough for a non-personalized parking space each year.
New applicants requesting a handicap parking space shall make application to the Borough for review.
A fee of $5.00 payable at the time of notification of approval has been set. Handicap Parking Applications are available at the Borough Office or online on our website.

2026 Tamaqua Transfer Garbage Collection Holiday
Schedule for Weatherly Borough
Memorial Day– Garbage will be collected Tuesday, May 26th
Labor Day– Garbage will be collected Tuesday, September 8th
ALL GARBAGE MUST BE:
*Put out on Sunday evening because haulers will pick
up as earlier as 3:00 am on day of pick-up
*6 bag limit per week (trash not in bags will not be
picked up by hauler)
*1 bulk item per month
Weatherly Borough shall place the Snow Ban in effect for whenever an appreciable amount of snow falls or is predicted. At this time, the information will be announced on the Code Red Phone System and posted on both the Weatherly Borough and Weatherly Borough Police websites and Facebook pages.
Example;
Weatherly Borough is placing the Snow Ban in effect for 1/23/2024 at 8pm due to the predicted winter storm. All Vehicles must be moved by 8pm or they will be ticketed and/or towed. All vehicles should be removed from the posted Snow Ban side of the street and remain there until the Snow Ban is Lifted or Reversed
REVERSE SNOW BAN
When the storm has passed and the Weatherly Borough Road Crew determines that they have cleared the Snow Ban side of the streets and roads, they may then place the Reverse Snow Ban in effect.
Example;
Weatherly Borough is now placing the Reverse Snow Ban in effect for 1/24/2024 at 10am, all vehicles must be moved from the Non-Snow Ban side of the street by 10am or they will be ticketed and/or towed. All vehicles should be moved to the Posted Snow Ban side of the street and remain there until the Snow Ban is Lifted.
CANCELLATION or LIFTING of SNOW BAN
When the predicted storm fails to produce conditions warranting snow or ice removal or the Weatherly Borough Road Department determines that Snow Ban is no longer needed to accomplish its mission of keeping the streets clear, the snow ban will be cancelled or lifted. Example; Weatherly Borough is now Lifting the Snow Ban and regular parking may resume.

If you are not currently enrolled in the Code Red Phone System, please contact the Weatherly Borough Office at 570-427-8640 between the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday to add your telephone number to the system.
Borough residents are advised that all Snow Ban Announcements will be made by the Code Red Telephone Notification System as well as the Weatherly Borough website at weatherlypa.gov, our Facebook page.
SNOW BAN PARKING & SNOW REMOVAL
91-19. Violations and penalties. Any person violating the provisions of this Article shall be guilty of a violation of this Article, for which violation said person shall be liable to pay a fine of $75.00 for each offense, plus costs, and each daily occurrence of the same offense shall be considered as a new offense and shall be fineable as such, payable to the Borough of Weatherly. If this fine is not paid within five (5) days from the date of issuance of the ticket, a citation shall be issued and upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine $75.00 plus court costs
The Weatherly Borough Council has designated the Lehigh Valley Health Network Ambulance Service as the Borough’s Ambulance service. Mahoning Valley Ambulance will no longer be the borough’s Ambulance service as of July 18, 2025.
Mahoning Valley has indicated that they did not do a membership drive in the borough, so if you chose to be a member of LVHN Ambulance Service, the application is on our website or it can be picked up at the Borough. Office. Just follow the instructions on the application and mail to LVHN.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated all community and non-transient non-community water systems to submit a service line inventory to identify the material of all service lines connected to the public water distribution system. WE WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS THE CURRENT STATE OF THE PARK. THE BOROUGH HAD RECEIVED A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $250,000.00 FROM DCNR. WHICH WILL ALLOW FOR UPGRADES TO THE PARK THAT INCLUDE AN ADDITIONAL BASKETBALL COURT AND TWO PICKLEBALL COURTS WITH A COURTYARD AND SITTING AREA. THE BANDSHELL AREA WILL BE TERRACED AND ASPHALTED TO ACCOMMODATE ADA.
IN THE MAIN AREA OF THE PARK ANY WALKWAY THAT IS NOT PAVED WILL BE PAVED AND THE SITTING AREA OF THE BANDSHELL WILL BE TERRACED TO PROVIDE ADA SEATING. THE BENCHES WILL HAVE NEW ENGINEERED WOOD INSTALLED ON THEM. WATER LINES HAVE BEEN RUN TO EACH OF THE SHELTERS TO ALLOW THE SHELTERS TO BE PRESSURE WASHED. THERE IS ALSO A WATER LINE RUN TO THE OLD BASKETBALL COURT SO THAT THE OLD AND NEW COURTS CAN BE CLEANED.
WE HAD TO DO SOME OF THE EXCAVATION WORK NOW TO INSTALL THE WATER LINES AND TO DO SOME PRELIMINARY WORK PRIOR TO THE CONTRACT WORK BEING DONE.
THIS GRANT IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER DCNR GRANT THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED. THIS GRANT REQUIRED CONSIDERABLY MORE PAPERWORK, AND PRIOR APPROVAL ON EACH STEP MUST BE APPROVED BY DCNR TO MOVE FORWARD. WE WERE TOLD BY DCNR THAT IT WOULD TAKE OVER A YEAR OF PAPERWORK BECAUSE IT WAS FROM A FEDERAL SOURCE AND THAT WAS TRUE.
WE APOLOGIZE IF THE PARK DOES NOT LOOK ITS BEST NOW, BUT STARTING IN SPRING OF 2025 THE CONTRACT WORK WILL BEGIN AND YOU WILL HAVE AN EVEN BETTER PARK THAN BEFORE. WE ASK YOU TO BE PATIENT AND UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS AND IS A LOT OF WORK AND PLANNING IN THIS PROJECT AND WE BELIEVE YOU WILL ENJOY THE OUTCOME FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
A NEW ADDITION THAT WILL COMPLEMENT THE PARK INCLUDE TWO BOCCHI BALL COURTS LOCATED ON THE BASEBALL FIELD JUST BEHIND WHERE THE BASKETBALL COURT WILL BE BUILT. THEY ARE FINISHED AND READY TO BE USED. THE RULES ARE POSTED AT THE COURTS JUST TO MAKE IT EASIER TO PLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME.
THE “PAY TO FISH” WILL BE COMING SOON. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THE BUILDING TO HOUSE THE EQUIPMENT FOR US TO BE ABLE TO OPEN UP THIS NEW FEATURE AT THE PARK. THIS NEW VENUE ALSO REQUIRED A LOT OF PLANNING TO GET IT UP AND RUNNING. WE BELIEVE THAT IT WILL PROVIDE EVERYONE WITH AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE.
