Code Enforcement/Zoning & Bldg. Permits

Weatherly Borough residents are urged to verify first whether permits are required before beginning projects in and around their homes. All Swimming Pools that hold 24” of water or more, Decks, Fences, Sheds & Garages, New Roofs or Roof Replacement requiring sheathing, Enclosing Porches, Porch Floors requiring new Joists, Electrical upgrades, some Plumbing, Structural changes, Chimneys/Chimney Replacements and Outdoor Fuel Burning Appliances are all examples of items that may REQUIRE one or more permits and in some cases INSPECTIONS as well. Special regulations apply in some cases. In addition, please be aware that the Code Enforcement Dept. is keeping under observation, such items as, High Grass & Weeds & Abandoned Vehicles on properties in the Borough.

BRUSH & TREE LIMBS

Tree trimmings and yard clippings are considered RUBBISH and are acceptable for garbage pickup, HOWEVER, please remember to BIND TRIMMINGS IN NO MORE THAN 3’ x 3’ SECTIONS in order for the hauler to pick them up. Large logs large loose branches, etc. are NOT ACCEPTABLE for garbage pickup.

LANDLORDS

Weatherly Borough Landlords are reminded that Borough Ordinance Chapter 43 Landlord-Tenant, requires all Landlords to register their rental properties and tenants, obtain a Landlord License and have a rental inspection performed prior to tenant moving in, AND whenever there is a change in tenancy. Failure to obtain a license and inspection is a violation of Borough Ordinance and is enforceable. GARBAGE – DUMPSTER PERMITS

Dumpster permits are required for any dumpster, POD, or similar device that need to be placed on any public street or alley within the Borough. Please contact the Borough Office for details. An amount of garbage that is larger/ heavier than a usual garbage pick-up amount may require a dumpster, whether it is placed on a public street OR on personal property.
